Directly across the road from the Af-Al-Pi Chen is the lower terminal of the Haifa Aerial Cable Car. The ride is not as dramatic as it looks from a distance, but it is a fast way to get up or down the side of the Carmel mountain. The popular Yotvata restaurant, famous for its salads and ice cream, is at the lower terminal. The cable car rides through the air from the beach at the western end of Bat Galim up to the tip of Mount Carmel, the site of the Old Lighthouse and Stella Maris. The top terminal has a refreshments kiosk; the bottom terminal’s downstairs hall contains an exhibit of a featured artist’s work each week.
